Why bother with American Eagle Silver Coins? They are not so old - they were only minted from 1987. So what the makes it valuable?

Before we go too far, however, we must make a distinction in valuation between what is important for a numismatist numismatist or what is considered a commodity investor. The numismatist would probably be more interested in the historical importance of room, when and how it was created and for what purpose or in honor of (the story). He or she would be particularly keen on scarcity part. On the other hand, investors in commodity would be the intention of making profits of a change in value of the coin (S) from strictly a "bullion" or "rare metal" point of view. In the latter case, the condition is important, but less.

Let us first things from the perspective of a numismatist.

Age

Any numismatist will tell you that age is not necessarily the decisive factor in determining the value of a piece. In fact, it can be a disadvantage if the room was not supported properly and it ended up being aa defaced, removed, or chemically eroded in some way. In all cases, we do not age on our side as determining the value for the American Eagle Silver.

Condition

How about the state? Whatever the age, condition is important. Closest to the new state the best. I guess the Eagles young Americans more likely to be in better condition and therefore more valuable than other ancient coins in a state not very good.

Parts are often affected different purposes - Released, uncirculated, proof, etc. Those who do not stand in traffic is much more pristine or nearly pristine condition than others. This is especially true for American Eagle Silver coins not in circulation at all.

Rarity

A Money is not necessarily rare because it is old. Its rarity is more dependent on how many are still "available" after Production ceased at the mint. By extension, its value is linked to its rarity (and on his condition, of course) and the market demand for the part money. Sometimes, however, the popularity of a play brings a higher price for its rarity.

Scarcity is not only a reflection of the availability, but it is sometimes determined by a quirk in the production process. An error in typing a portion of the total production is worth remarkably high - die as a defective or worn out or change font of a lot of death to another.

It is that the greatest measure of numismatic value is found for the silver American Eagle.

The rarer and more useful would be the "1995-W Proof Silver Eagle (West Point Mint), part of the "10th Anniversary American Eagle Coin Set Five - only 32,125 sets were minted. The American Silver Eagle dollar coin in this set is valued at over $ 4,000.00 today.

Following is the exceptional '2008 Burnished Uncirculated American Silver Eagle, minted by mistake in a small amount with the 2007 reverse die - changing the font of the "U" in "The United States of America as a sans serif font in most die from what would have been the new serif font in reverse die 2008. The public awareness of this error and its circulation is limited considerably increased its value.

The '20th Anniversary of the American program Silver Eagle has produced 2006 copies limited Commemorative Set of 3 pieces - regular Proof, Reverse Proof Silver Eagle Burnished Uncirculated, who are wanted value for their rare collection.

Now let us talk briefly about their value to investors in commodities.

American Eagle silver bullion coins are distinguished from other silver bullion through their certification and guaranteed by the U.S. government to contain a troy ounce of pure silver to 99.9%. This certainly reinforces their value safe for investment purposes.

As an investor, rather as a collector's item, the value of the American Silver Eagle is motivated by a bullish demand for precious metals on the retail market. This is especially true today with the United States Mint to overcome past difficulties with production bottlenecks and to supply very strong pieces of American Eagle Silver market mutual funds to U.S. retail.

So there you have it. The not so old American Silver Eagle's worth, after all, both to collectors and investors.
