Finding a great Solar IPO these days is becoming easier and easier; especially with the market crash of 2008. That may seem like a strange thing to say, but the deal is, since the market collapsed in the summer of 2008 investors got scared. They left the market in droves and rightfully so. Why be in a market that is tanking before your very eyes? So when the IPOs returned in the winter of 2009, they weren't just IPOs anymore. For instance, the Solar IPO of 2009 all the sudden was not the same Solar IPO of 2006 or 2007 when the market was hot. The solar IPO of 2009 and 2010 became a solar IPO that had excellent fundamentals, great earnings and a solid business plan.
What happened was, investors saw through the smoke and mirrors and saw that the solar IPO of 2006 and 2007 was more in debt and more hype than anything. The solar IPO of 2006 was overpriced and over inflated and instead of a market trend per say, IPOs became investments again.
Now that 2010 is here and after the 2009 came and went with very solid results, this year looks as if things will be better than last. While 2009 wasn't a "huge" IPO year, I personally did well, bringing back over 500% in gains. These gains were from all kinds of IPOs but more specifically, I did very well with the solar IPO.
This article is titled, "How A Good Solar IPO Can Change Your Life" and I'd like to show you what to look for so you can profit from the upcoming IPOs. The information below can be found easily by viewing the IPO's prospectus on the SEC website.
1.Find a solid Underwriter: The underwriter is a very important part of the IPO as they are the deal managers which handle the entire process. With IPOs, you really want an experienced and solid underwriter and not just anyone will do. I've had great success following underwriters like Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan and Credit Suisse.
2.View the Use of Proceeds statement within the prospectus: This is a very telling document and it basically explains what the IPO company will be doing with the proceeds from the offer. What I like to look for are statements like "Research and Development", "Acquiring other Businesses", etc.
3.Demand: This last component of finding the perfect solar IPO can not be discovered until the company is about to debut as an IPO. If investors feel good about a particular solar IPO or any IPO for that matter, they pile on. Demand makes the stock run and run hard and its no difference from trading any other stock. Volume rules.
Lining up in the IPO pipeline this year are many IPOs that range in all sectors from technology, health care, financial, solar, energy and services. At last look, there were 47 filed IPOs with more filing by the week.
If you've ever thought about entering the IPO market, the time has never been better and your chances of finding a solid IPO are very good.
I've been investing in IPO's for over 10 years now and by no means is this simply a hobby, it's a business for me. Over the last 10 years, I've gained a lot of inside knowledge and made gains in the thousands of percent and I'm willing to share that knowledge with you for free.
