Strike Gold! How Your Old Gold Can Help You During Tough Economic Times
In these uncertain economic times, many people are forced to work harder to make ends meet. They see their income ebbing away. 1. Start by looking around the house for jewelry that may contain precious metals like gold or silver. 2. Go online and find a gold refiner (be sure they are a reputable refiner and not a "middleman" because a good refiner can pay twice as much or more than a middleman). A good gold refiner will provide a way for you to mail your gold or silver to them (perhaps through an order form online). Additionally, some gold refiners might even come to you if you live within a certain region.
3. Send them your gold. When they get your gold, they will test it for weight and purity and they will send you a price based on the price of gold for that day.
4. You will usually have a certain number of days – often a week or two – to decide whether you want to accept their payment. If you don't want to, accept their payment, you can send it back and you'll get your gold back. If you do want to accept their payment, they will take your gold and refine it.
What happens to your gold after that? It will be refined and then sold to dental firms or jewelry makers who have an ongoing need for refined gold that they can reshape and use for their specific purposes.
Nothing could be easier and in today's economic turmoil, many consumers are choosing this method to clean up gold that they just had sitting around anyway and to turn it into cash that they can use for more important things.
