Tom Cruise is an American actor and film producer turned an activist for the Scientology detoxification program in New York. His affiliation with Scientology has drawn him into severe controversy. This has deeply affected his film career as well as his relationship with his audience. So much so that Germany that does not approve of this religion has expressed concern over his films on World War II in which Tom played the role of a German soldier who planned to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Tom Cruise has believed and practiced the detoxification exercise himself and claimed that it gave him great relief and satisfaction. While it has risen many eyebrows there are several who approached him for this treatment. Tom has claimed that no one has expressed dissatisfaction from the detoxification method.
Tom Cruise joined Scientology in the 1980s and has reportedly attained OT VI level. Reports reveal that Tom was drawn towards the educational program of Church of Scientology when he was looking for avenues to overcome dyslexia. He has been hailed by the International Association Scientology which has honored him with the first Freedom Medal of Valor. To quote the International Scientology News of 2004 the achievement of Tom Cruise is described thus: "From spearheading LRH Purification tech into the heart of human disaster, to changing the face of education at national levels, from eradicating the very thought of psychiatry, to full global dissemination, it is factually a tale of towering scope, and a litany of accomplishments which would take a magazine in itself to catalog."
Tom views poor performance of children at school to application of 'mind-altering drugs'. While the teachers and parents put the blame on each other, Tom alleges that the psychiatrists happily and quietly keep the drugs flowing into the blood of the innocent children. In spite of all the controversies surrounding his connection to Scientology, Tom Cruise has not been deterred and firmly believes and preaches that the science that teaches to medicate children must be done away with. Thus continues Tom's campaign against psychiatrists whom he believes are bringing disaster by infusing drugs into tender patients who as a result will get to the verge of loosing their natural human abilities.
