There has always been a kind of battle between these two precious metals: gold and silver. At first sight, the yellow metal seems to be the winner but there are advantages and disadvantages in both cases. The first impression is to say that gold is the winner.
All investors prefer gold. It is a relatively expensive metal which does not tarnish, does not corrode, it is a good conductor and it is a "good friend" when it is kept in the bank. The yellow metal has become an international currency. Gold bullion and gold bars are the only safe items in case of an economical crisis.
Moreover, medicine owes a lot to this glittering metal, not to forget that gold is a life savior in many fields of industry. Intricate jewelries turn the yellow metal into real masterpieces.
On the other hand, silver has its own qualities. It is true that it is not as valuable as gold, but the entire world resources show that it is rarer than the other more precious metal. Nonetheless, the investors haven't thought of its rarity. It has been said that gold is a rich personality, while silver is a younger, poorer relative.
This "argent" metal exceeded the yellowish one in demand. The Chinese industry of jewelry has started to use more and more silver. The only problem is that the glowing metal used for these jewelries is extremely cheap in comparison to the other materials. Those who buy those silver jewelries cannot consider them a profitable investment.
The same metal seems to be more skillful in what electronics is concerned. Taking into account that it is a better conductor than gold, it is used on a larger scale. Unfortunately, being so cheep leads to its loss because it is more profitable to buy silver than to reuse it and it does not cost much to extract and sell it.
More and more specialists realized that investing in the bright, white metal is better when the economy is booming. In critical situations, when nothing is sure, the yellowish metal is more reliable. After all, at every contest, the gold metal is the one which matters. In case that one cannot be reached, the silver medal brings you into a reassuring situation.
