The coastal areas of the state of California are the most populated in the state, and even within the United States. When you move inland, however, some of the terrain is a bit rougher, and the population numbers go way down. When area code 530 was implemented, it was split from the code 916. What was a bit different than most code splits was that the remaining part of 913 is very small, and 530 spread out over the north eastern part of the state.
Unlike some of the other area codes in California, this one covers quite a few counties. The area is much larger than most, with nineteen counties included. Many of the area codes along the coast contain just one, even in some cases, just a part of one. These areas are not quite as prestigious as the ones along the coast, and they don't have access to beach. All of this means the population is much smaller, and one area code can reach and service them all without problem.
The split of area code 530 from the 916 code happened in July of 1997. Though cellular phones were not quite as popular then, the need was still high for newer numbers. At that time, cable and even DSL Internet was not as popular, and that means dial up Internet service was common. Most families wanted a second line for that rather than trying to be online and on the phone with the same line.
Area code 530 is in use in the counties of Alpine, Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Humboldt, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Yolo, and Yuba. Some of the cities included are Alpine Village, Durham, Oregon City, Maxwell, Diamond Springs, El Dorado, South Lake Tahoe, Hamilton City, Westwood, Nevada City, Reading, and the Beale Air Force base.
You may think because the area code 530 covers such a huge area, it might be hard to figure out where a call might be coming from. You can always take the prefix of the number to see with which town that number is associated. Even better, you can try to use reverse white or yellow pages to pin down a landline number, or a reverse cell phone lookup when the call comes to you from a mobile phone.
Travis Craig writes informative articles about phone number searches, area codes layouts, and how to find out more information about them. Placer Deposit $76.47 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In geology, a placer deposit or placer is an accumulation of valuable minerals formed by deposition of dense mineral phases in a trap site. The name is from the Spanish word placer, meaning alluvial sand. Types of placer deposits include alluvium, eluvium, beach placers, and paleoplacers. Typical locations for alluvial placer deposits are on the inside bends of rivers and creeks, in natural hollows, at the break of slope on a stream, the base of an escarpment, waterfall or other barrier, within sand dunes, beach profiles or in gravel beds. Mining Camps of Placer County $26.25 Everything in Placer County history leads to gold, from its namethe Spanish term for goldbearing gravelto the mining camps that sprouted overnight in its rugged river canyons. Ecstatic cries of Gold on the American River in 1848 launched the largest voluntary migration in the history of the world. As claims panned out, thousands of miners swarmed like locusts between the roughandtumble mining camps, from the crest of the Sierra Nevada to the Sacramento Valley. Some camps disappeared along with the easy placer gold; others found new methods to extract gold deposited deep in quartz veins or underground and developed into stable towns that still stand. Sometimes washing whole hillsides into rivers, hydraulic mining was outlawed in the 1880s, but the colorful characters and tall tales of the Gold Rush live on.
